Transparent assessment practices, structured examinations and fair promotion criteria aligned with CISCE norms — ensuring every student is evaluated comprehensively.

St. Mary’s Orthodox School follows a Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) system for Classes I–VIII, and a term-based examination system for Classes IX–XII as per CISCE guidelines. Our evaluation framework is designed to assess not just knowledge but understanding, application and overall development.

Promotion Policy

Classes I – VIII

Promotion is based on aggregate performance across both terms including unit tests, projects and annual examinations. A minimum of 40% aggregate is required for promotion.

Classes IX – X

Students must clear the school’s internal examinations to be eligible for the ICSE Board. A minimum pass in each subject is mandatory for promotion to Class X and to sit ICSE.

Classes XI – XII

Promotion to Class XII requires satisfactory performance in Class XI examinations. Students failing in core subjects may be required to repeat the class or change stream.

Attendance Requirement

A minimum of 75% attendance is mandatory for a student to be eligible to appear in examinations. Exemptions may be granted only in exceptional medical cases with prior approval.

📌 Note: The school reserves the right to detain any student who fails to meet the minimum academic or attendance requirements, regardless of fee payment. Report cards are issued at the end of each term. Parents are requested to attend Parent–Teacher Meetings to discuss their child’s progress.
