St. Mary's Orthodox School was established in 1979. This Co-educational English Medium School was lighted for life as an educational venture of the St. Mary's Orthodox Syrian Church Society, Kanpur, which is under the jurisdiction of Delhi Diocese of The Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church.
In the year 1977, with the request of the Society, K.D.A. allotted the land for running a School, a Church and a Clinic. It is a minority institution based on the minority rights guaranteed by the Indian Constitution. Christian Educational Institutions are part of the Church's effort to share in the country's educational undertaking.

St. Mary's Orthodox School aims at the integral, personalized education of the child. It strives to produce intellectually well trained, morally upright, socially committed, spiritually inspired men and women, who can contribute to the development of our nation and remain good citizens.
